Sinus infection: What you can do

Stuffed nose, sinus infection, treatments, and of all things, the environment

I know about sinus infections and the suffering it bring. I was a sufferer myself when I was young. Like most normal person, I have been to countless ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) specialists and even had an operation done to correct the nasal septum deviation (my nose is a bit crooked because of a fall when I was very young). When I was a student in Belgium, one ENT specialist even want to pour liquid nitrogen into my nose. I don't know if he had intended to use me as a guinea pig, for after all, that was a University hospital, and doctors in university hospitals do carry out research. Fortunately for me, the problem cleared up, I think by itself and I don't suffer that much from stuffed nose, nasal drip and sinus infections anymore.

But if I had know of natural sinus infection remedy, perhaps my sufferings may not have been that prolonged. Silver Sinus claims that their product for treatment of sinus infection is made of a 100% natural mineral supplement of ionic/colloidal silver.

Silver is a known antimicrobial agent (“antibacterial agents”) and I have that impregnated into the filter element of my water filter. I drink water direct from the water filter and that practice have brought me no health problem for the very many years I have done it. Plus it sure have helped save on my electricity bill, help me make a contribution to the environment and mitigate to some small extend the global warming that is quickly getting confirmed to be actually happening. Note the floods in England, the melting ice cap at our highest mountain - Mount Everest, the melting polar ice, the more frequent and severe hurricanes in the east coast of the United States of America and in my own backyard, frequent rain when it is supposed to be the dry season. Our one and only spaceship Earth with no lifeboat needs help. See Enviroman Says

Colloidal Silver, health benefits and possible risks

According to Wikipedia, colloidal silver is a colloid of silver particles in water which has antimicrobial properties and many claim it is a powerful antibiotic which is relatively safe for human consumption. There is a small risk of argyria though. Argyria is a permanent blue or gray skin condition which is considered benign, so other than the "cosmetic effect", I think it so not much to worry about, especially if you are not taking it on a long term basis. Silver Sinus has also written about the safety of colloidal silver products and has claimed that the U.S. Government's Center for Disease Control confirmed in 1995 that there has never been any allergic, toxic or carcinogenic reaction to colloidal silver. They also claim that according to the EPA IRIS (Integrated Risk Information Systems) Report on silver (5th page, 1st paragraph), several tests had been conducted to determine the absorption and retention of ingested silver in a number of animals (including primates) and that these tests showed that between 90-99% of ingested silver was excreted by the second day after ingestion and greater than 99% was excreted in less than a week. This, they say, clearly shows that silver does not build up in the system when consumed in small amounts.
